Obedience

Puppy Obedience and Socialization

Age range: 12 weeks – 6 months.

One hour twice a week for six (6) weeks

You will learn how to teach your dog basic cues such as sit, down, and come, crate, and more importantly, you and your dog will begin a lifelong relationship to create a solid foundation for students who want a nice family pet, as well as, students interested in more advanced training with their dog in sports.  We will discuss topics such as biting, jumping, house training, household management (e.g., how do we keep the puppy from chewing everything?), barking, etc

Advanced Puppy Obedience and Socialization

Prerequisite: Puppy Obedience and Socialization

Age range: 6 – 12 months
One hour twice a week for six (6) weeks

This class picks up where Puppy Obedience and Socialization

 leaves off. We will continue to build on the foundational obedience while introducing  and maintaining with increasing distraction, recall, and other basic obedience commands with increased distraction, and much more.

Basic Obedience

Age range: 12+ months 

One hour once a week for six (6) weeks

In this class we will focus on building a strong foundation of communication and understanding between dog and handler. We will begin teaching proper household behaviors.  Work outside of the class will be necessary in order to achieve class goals.

Advanced Obedience

We will take basic obedience skills to the next level. This class will focus on increasing distractions and prolonged stays (Durations: until released), we will work on latency, how quickly cue / commands are learned and will polish fluency. This class will help to establish solid self control through high levels of leave from food, toys and other dogs, impulse control around people and dogs, fast recalls with distraction, and a go to place cue so your dog will stay on a mat with distractions close by. Come and have fun with your dog!

Out and About!

Enjoy this class of taking your dog out to stroll in the town, shops or public events.

 

We will spend time at different locations around triad area (shops, airport, parks, events and etc)  which will challenge puppies and dogs and their handlers to walk in increasingly distracting environments. The goal of the class is to develop the foundation skills to help handlers understand which skills need to be practiced to develop successful leash walking habits for a lifetime.

NOTE: Dogs who bark or lunge at other dogs or people while on leash CANNOT join this class.

Cancellation, Withdrawal, & Refund Policy

Enrollment in our classes and seminars is limited and your participation is important to your dog's success. Once you have registered, we are reylying on you to attend. If BBDT cancels a class, you will receive a full refund. Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing.

A student wishing to withdraw from a class that has not been cancelled by BBDT must provide a written request at least one week before the scheduled start of the class. We will offer a full refund minus a $20 administrative processing fee per student per class. Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing. Within the week prior to the start of a class or after the class has begun, refunds will not be given. In the case of verified medical/hardships a credit may be given.

Any credit you receive from BBDT will be valid for one year from the date you notify us and must be used by someone on the same account as the original student. BBDI will not extend credit for occasional missed classes due to illness or other circumstances.

PLEASE NOTE: BBDT will not refund class fees if the student/dog is asked to withdraw from the class due to behavior of the dog. We are happy to evaluate a dog (at no charge) prior to registration to determine if the dog can handle the classroom environment.
